School-to-Work
School-to-work activities provide opportunities for students to learn about careers, relate the demands of those careers to the academic preparation required and plan for their futures. What they learn “on the job” should help them to realize the importance and usefulness of what they learn in school.
Students will learn about the real working world through a variety of opportunities which include: shadowing, service learning, cooperative education, mentoring and internships.
BLHS students are eligible to enroll in a school-to-work class for an internship or through out of class experiences. All students must provide their own transportation, complete an application and be recommended by the Guidance Department or a teacher. Preference is given to seniors and juniors for school-to-work activities.
Students should see the School-to-Work Coordinator for additional information.
