Graduation Rate
The graduation rate for BLHS was 70.6%, down from 70.7% in 2005.
Recent Accomplishments
Coach Courtney McInnis was selected by the Carolina Panthers organization as the Carolinas High School Coach of the Week and received a $1000 award for BLHS.
Mrs. Stephanie Burgess and Mr. Jake Getson received National Board Certifications.
Riley Grime was selected as a National Beta Club Scholarship recipient. She was one of only 211 students across the nation to be selected.
Mr. Teddy Higgins and Mr. David Rimer were selected to be in the National Honor Roll of Outstanding American Teachers.
Eleven students from BLHS were recognized by the Columbia Urban League for Young and Gifted Awards for academics, leadership, and athletics.
BLHS AP English students Riley Grime, Mary Beth Hanna, and Hunter Wertz placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively in the 2007 Southern Region Forum Essay and Arts Contest, sponsored by the College Board. 
Numerous student awards were won by members of the BLHS student body through other competitions with FCCLA, FFA, Science Fair, Band, Young Writer’s, and JROTC.
 
Recent Initiatives
·          BLHS was recently selected by the Southern Region Education Board to be a High Schools That Work Site
·          Career Clusters have been implemented. Students entering as 9th graders in August 2007 will select from a wide array of choices for academic majors.
·          AP English Literature and Composition was added to the AP course selections.
·          The Bible as Literature, Old and New Testament was introduced as a course selection. The State newspaper featured the story in a feature article. 
·          Midlands Technical College now offers courses in History, English, and Psychology as on-site dual credit courses for students at Batesburg- Leesville High. 
·          The inaugural Lexington 3 Fine Arts Extravaganza was held in the Fine Arts Center featuring creative works and performances from all district schools.
·          The Theater Arts class produced and performed, In Memorium, in the Fine Arts Center.
